Metal Log Siding

Questions to Answer
Are you a fan of metal siding? Do you like the features of metal siding? Tired of home maintenance? Do you want a durable exterior installed on your home?

Tidbit
Many people may not know but log siding can also come in metal form. The most popular metals used for log siding panels are steel and aluminum. Both of these metals have their advantages and disadvantages.

Aluminum vs Steel
What are the differences between aluminum and steel siding panels? There are some slight differences but not many. Steel is usually said to be more durable than aluminum, depending on the gauge of steel and thickness of aluminum. Aluminum, if scratched, wont bleed and rust like steel but companies have come out with touch up paint coatings to cover up scratches. Steel is a more well known building material compared to aluminum which has recently come on the season in the exterior industry. Contractors and siding installers think aluminum is easy to handle because it doesn't crease or kink so easily with longer panels.

Why Metal Log Siding?
Like I have said before, there is a lot of maintenance that needs to be done to a traditional, wood log home. With metal log siding there is no more painting (unless you want to), staining, or sealing on your log home. It is a durable product that lasts a long time, wont rot, split, or be infested with insects. You may even see greater heating efficiencies in your home with metal siding. Looking for a low maintenance, lower cost alternative to real wood log siding? Take a look at metal log siding!
